PATCH TO HONOR AURORA VICTIMS
8/9/2012
On July 20th, Colorado experienced a horrific, senseless tragedy that touched our community, nation and world. Twelve were killed and 58 others injured. Denver’s Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps members will be wearing a patch during DCI World Championships honoring those most directly impacted by the events at the theater in Aurora: those killed, those injured, the traumatized movie-goers, and their families and friends.
This patch also pays tribute to those who responded in their official roles to this tragedy: the police, fire-fighters, paramedics, emergency room and hospital medical teams, and grief counselors. Their personal exposure to these horrors is traumatizing and yet they continue to serve and represent all of us in the community in extending healing and soothing hands.
