The Denver Blue Knights Drum and Bugle Corps will be holding a one day audition and “drum corps experience camp” in Texas on November 8, 2009.  This camp will be held at Colleyville Heritage High School in the Dallas, Ft Worth area.  The camp will begin with registration at 9:00 AM and clinic at 10:00 AM.  The clinic and audition will conclude at 5:00 PM and lunch will be provided.

This audition/camp will be for Color Guard, Brass and Percussion.  Tim Newburn (Guard Caption Head), Andy Smart (Brass Caption Head) and Jeff Ausdemore (Percussion Caption Head) will all be present at this camp.  Our goal will be to introduce potential members to the Blue Knights organization, its instructors, and methodology.  In addition, all students present will receive a one on one evaluation by our staff.

For the past several years the Blue Knights have benefited from the talented students we have from Texas.   This camp is an attempt on our part to help reduce the cost of auditioning for our corps.  Participants will be able to attend this camp without the expense of traveling to Denver and determine if our staff feels they have the talent and desire necessary to fit into the Blue Knights program.  If the students pass this first step in the process they will be required to attend a camp in Denver to complete the audition.  The cost of the camp is $40 and if invited to attend a Denver camp this amount will be fully credited to the normal audition fee of $75.  We feel this is an incredibly affordable option to determine if they are a fit for the Blue Knights!
